When a Search Help field is prefilled with an value, the search help option sent to backend  is incorrect and hence is not returning any values..

How to reproduce the issue?

Access the WEBGUI internet service using a URL like:

Enter the Company Code under the Basic Data tab.

Click on the Overview Icon. This will open the below screen where we can enter the WBS elements. Enter the following.

After this double click on the WBS Element TPX00000-01 and select Project Basic Data tab.

Enter DEL in  the first input box for Resp.cost cntr and then click on the Search(lens) icon.

Enter the following and click on the Find Button.

This shows up a message that there is no value for this selection. However there is data in the system. This can be proved by opening the same TCODE (Cj20N) in the SAPGUI and preforming the same actions.

How to solve the issue?

Depending on Kernel release you will need to upgrade to patch as documented in http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2283238
