At this point, I will assume that most of us understand the basics of SAP’s next generation business suite-  S/4HANA. Key points like:

  • Less data footprint, reduced tables and removal of redundancies in transactions
  • A Fiori role based user interface that appeals to both end users and solutions architect alike.
  • End of support – 2025 for traditional SAP ECC system.

Here are 3 additional points you need to know.

  1. Upgrade and migrate in one-step

Did you know that you can Upgrade and Migrate in one step to reduce downtime and guarantee a seamless migration. Companies now record the completion of updates and migration in one weekend. Check out  success stories online. Most of us know that SAP S/4HANA works with UNICODE system. So this means that existing customers will need to upgrade their current ERP system  to a UNICODE system. Companies already using a UNICODE system only need a conversion. For more details see here:

2.     Why you should not settle for S/4HANA 1605

1605 is a tried and true release for only simple finance. With it, is included ERP 6 EHP 8. This package has no logistics embedded in it. With an end of maintenance set for 2020  it is advisable companies opt for higher versions such as 1709. Find  key use cases   below:

3.      Information availability

There is usually the new technology fever, where consultants have little or no information to fully deliver to clients and clients on the hand are full of skepticism which eventually led to a delay in new implementation. The good news is there are tonnes of information available online to help an end-to-end transformation, whether it is a brand new implementation, landscape transformation or a simple conversion.

SAP HANA is SAP’s in-memory, column oriented relational database introduced in 2013.  Aside the rather whimsical name that originated from Hasso Plattner’s love for an island in the Hawaii Island( Hana Bay), this database is known for its high speed performance and ability to produce real- time insights.  As we tried to get around this innovation,  SAP hits us with something better SAPS/4HANA.  A solution that solves all the problems we cried about.

SAP S/4HANA is an enterprise system that is built on the SAP HANA database, a Fiori user interface, and simplified business suite that can be deployed on premise, in cloud and hybrid.
